Lawless

Going into this movie I did not know what to expect because I did not get a chance to view the trailer. All I knew was Tom Hardy was one of the main actors along with Shia labeouf. Tom Hardy starred in previous films that I really enjoyed so I figured it had to be a decent flick.

So Lawless is a film that takes place in the depression-era during the 1920’s when prohibition was full in effect. This movie was based on a true story of three brothers running a bootlegging gang and manufacturing moon shine.

Theres many twist n turns in this film and you really feel for the actors. Don’t get me wrong this is now chick flick. These brothers are ruthless and will do anything to make ends meet. They have to deal with problems like the new deputy in town and rival bootleggers trying to cut their profits. I really loved Forrest Bondurant (Tom Hardy) in this film; he was the man that just would not die. You guys will see what I mean when you see this film; it is just simply amazing how he is portrayed. If half of the film is even true, Forrest Bondurant lived a remarkable life. I must also commend Guy Pearce for playing a very convincing villain that you cannot help but hate. Ironically he was the new deputy in town to stop the moon shine business dead in its tracks.

Tremendous film, I really enjoyed every minute of it even the more intimate slow scenes were bearable. I would give this film an easy 9/10, definitely a movie you would not want to miss!
